What do you do for health insurance lap? I just gave my job 2 weeks notice (last day will be feb 21) and my orientation is March 20th and my insurance from Walmart won't start for 90 days from hire date.

Unless company policy changed in the last 2 weeks since my buddy started or a state specific law in Illinois, it starts day one. It may be a week or two to get your cards.

Who specifically did you speak with? Was it your HR manager? I am not aware of any changes for new drivers being hired no longer getting their medical benefits starting on day one. I even hear the same about medical benefits on day one as a part of radio spots Walmart has been running on Sirius XM radio on the Road Dog trucking channel as recent as just two days ago.

If hypothetically there had been a change in benefits for new Walmart drivers, you can still retain your medical/dental/vision from your current company under COBRA and have a minimum of 60 days upon termination of employment to elect to continue coverage at a cost of up to 102% of the total premiums paid by your employer.
