I'm an owner op as well. I started with a different company a few weeks ago. AIS is good but they have a lot of fees. I might call the folks over at interstate next week.

What fees do I have to pay if I was an Owner Op for hauling intermodals in Florida? Is it best to be under my authority? Or should I lease under a company?
And what is the fee for the twic badge? And whats the difference or is their different badges ?

Good morning. The fees that I mentioned are regards to a specific company. The company that I spoke about previously charges $58 for drayage (someone else pulling your container out of the port and placing it at the drop yard). I don't run the ports, I pick up containers from the drop yards and deliver them in different places. Ex. Pick up in Savannah, drop in Marianna Florida, then return with an empty container back to Savannah. All Intermodal companies are different though, some require their drivers to pull their own out of the port.

I believe I paid $135 when I applied for the TWIC. Some ports have a specific port badge like JAXPORT for Jacksonville and GAPort for Savannah. TWIC works in all ports.

    7seriestv Thanks this.
