Of course the one Wings game I watch there is a non call slash in OT that resulted in the bad guys winning. Such is life.

Spoke with a driver that paid off their truck and took it to Landstar. Says he is there to stay. Loves it.
Makes easily 2-3X what he was making here.
I was waiting for the "but there is the trailer fee"
Turns out if you pull a dry box, there is no fee.
Things have changed since I investigated them last.
Maybe there is a change in my future. I guess it can take 5 weeks to get on there, so I can't be in a hurry. And I'd need to renew my Hazmat

I was under the impression the "fee" many drivers talk about is simply the difference between pulling a LS trailer versus pulling your own trailer. What is it, something like 65% using theirs and 72% pulling your own? That would make the "fee" for using one of their trailers 7%. However, you may be right. It may pay the same regardless of whose trailer you use now.

After investigating a bit, I saw that is the case. You are paid higher if you own a trailer, but are not given the advantage of drop/hook.
This is just dry van mind you. Step and flats are paid differently

If you want to have own trailer there is a guy at landstar that leases trailers but I don't know anything about it. I have seen his ad on lcapp.

That is something I'd investigate later. For now I just want to get my ducks in a row.

First, I need to cross the finish line of March 3rd. Then I can start thinking bigger.
