Eric, thanks.

Thankyou, sorry for being a sarcastic jerk, I shouldnt post after dental work. Im just leaving mine as it came from the box, but thanks again Eric for prompt reply. I really do like the mic, $ 44.00 well spent.
rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
Im using the SL 41 on my Cobra 29 chrome LTD ( I change radios all the time) and on air reports tell me it sounds great, loud and clear. As some of you may know the factory talkback on a 29 ( lx or chrome) is very low in volume but this mic is the loudest Ive heard through talkback on this radio, so Im guessing I can safely assume that it is louder on air then the other mics( 636,Dp 56, 198, Rk 56) would be on same radio.
Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
The info sheet that came with the mic said that it only draws battery current when you key up, so unless you are long winded on a base station in your moms basement the battery should last 2 years like adverstised.

To short out the 2 header pins, does that mean to bent them together ? I think its best if I go find the 2mm jumpers at a radio shop.
-
you could always solder a wire across themDiesel Dave and mike5511 Thank this.
-
I wouldn't bend them. You'll probably crack the board if you do. Solder is the way to go. I'd probably drop a little solder on 2mm shunt if I used one too. If you'll notice, everything inside that mic is soldered.....for a good reason I'd say.
Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
You can buy what is called header jumpers on ebay for a few bucks, I would use them instead of trying to hack it together.
BUT a suggestion to Eric, maybe he can start throwing a couple header jumpers in with the mic when they are packaged at the factory?Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
Personally I wouldn't mess with it. You want that bass to roll off anyway.
