If walmart is so bad, then why stay there? If you feel that ltl is so much better, get a job with one those companies.

Its irrelevant if your previous job was a crap hole making peanuts and mediocre insurance. That's not apples to apples. I'm currently in the process of trying to get a job at several other companies and just like WM its HARD to get on!! I'm not one to down WM to every driver or make a scene but I tell things the way it is based on my experiences -
There is no such thing as a good company. As all outfits have there crazy policies and or favorites and etc. However Walmart transportation is better than the sorry 85% of other outfits around. And is the most popular and known about higher paying in the trucking world. And yes there are companies paying more than WMT. But they don't advertise period. And with some you may have to know someone to get in. But untill all companies start paying by the hour. I don't see many ppl wanting to come into trucking. GE pays 120k a year vs England paying $120 per week. Now who wants to basicly live in a trk and get 120 p/wk. Instead of m-f 12 hrs a day, home most nights, company paid meals, and company paid lodging even though the truck has a sleeper. But the thing with new comers is they don't want to pay there dues! One can't start at the top in any field.
