I started last year. They say you are covered from day one but new hires could not enroll for benefits until after there 1st pay period.

Probably already checked, but is the APU thermostat set to heat or AC? Not sure what weather you have been in recently. If the thermostat was set at 90 degrees, but was set on AC instead of heat, it would not kick the APU on with the outside temperatures being as cold as they are where you are at. Just a thought, in case it was overlooked. If not the case, then do as the shop instructed.

Yes, that is correct even when I started in 2013. You are covered from day one, yet the enrollment is not completed until after the first payroll. In the event a driver or covered dependent needs care during the first 2-3 weeks, proof of coverage can be verified by the medical provider. Walmart's benefits department can be reached by phone. Any time I called them, they have done a great job quickly resolving any issues promptly.

What are you talking about? Most people work Monday through Friday and are home Friday evening. Newbies or people who actually want to end up working weekends.
-
You'll be in for a surprise if you come here, most of us work weekends. What made you think we all get weekends off? Rofl. Only programs with rotating weekends will get you home on a Saturday/Sunday or some seniority on a 5/2.

Correct other than program drivers most set 5/2 drivers with M-F schedule where I'm at have many many years with company and have 4 digit driver numbers.BackIsSore Thanks this.
-
When you see some of the numbers compared to us who've only been here a few years you almost want to ask if their employee number is real lol
-
Just speaking with Walmart drivers over the years gave me that impression. I've delivered to close to 50 DC's throughout the country.
-
You have to be here for a very long time (15+ years) to enjoy mon-fri schedules but stranger things have happened during our rebids.

No I did not work for no crappy company if you call bringing home $12,000 a month a crappy company I guess I did then and when you talk about the benefits I had Blue Cross and Blue Shield I got every holiday off Easter Presidents' Day you name it every holiday including the Friday after Thanksgiving New Year's Eve Christmas Eve and then you're probably wondering well why did he leave that's because they sold everything except for their rigs that is they're drilling rigs to a crappy company I was making 3875 an hour plus overtime working 90 hours a week plus bonuses so that's why I said in my original post Walmart is not the most money I ever made but it's the best place I've ever worked
