You should have no problem. You have 2.5 years in. That is the big deal. Getting fired is something that happens to be VERY BEST of us.....which would be me. I totaled two tractors and two Trailers. I have been fired by 9 companies, that I can recall right off the top of my head. Could be more. Two companies went out of business. Got hit 8 times by other vehicles. I was never out of work more then 3 weeks.
Finally, I found a company that I am going to retire from. The greatest outfit out there....Woolly Rhino Transportation. Remember, you are only a loser if you quit while you are behind.
Terminated for safety reason, loss of control

Chancellor 1862 to 1890Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
Thanks for all the replies. I might as well ask this in the same thread.
I was just on the verge of getting ready to buy a truck and go O/O. Not a lease purchase, I have the money saved to straight up buy one.
Would I have an equally hard time with companies looking for O/O?
Should I look into starting my own authority ? -
Wooly Rhino and dngrous_dime Thank this.

Stop applying at mega companies and anyone that advertises for drivers. Find a small private fleet the has ten trucks or less. They road test you and hire you. They don't even use DAC and will simply pull your MVR and do the minimum required by DOT.
Beat the streets and avoid the megas.
Another option is trans force or DriverStaff. You can work at a ton of different places that need temp drivers. Find a place you like and apply direct.
Good luck and be careful out there. -
If you go with your own you might want to get quotes on a New entrants. Also have you pull your driving record to see wich if any were reported on your license? -
I can't imagine anyone holding a deer strike against you. The book says not to try and avoid the animal but stay straight.
Losing control in the ice sucks and while technically your fault, it shouldn't be that big of a deal. Show me a driver who says he never slid on the ice and I'll show you a southern regional driver, a rookie or a liar. I don't think you will have too difficult or a time getting back behind the wheel.UsualSuspect, 88228822, Lepton1 and 5 others Thank this. -
