Sounds like Sysco we were always busy but once you learn the routes its cool.
Im dont think they have an extra board here because they are so understaffed, 2 guys to a truck here also most of the time. The 4 day work weeks are lovely but i dont like their off time method.

Never worked for Maines, but I live and work not far from their corporate HQ in Conklin, NY. Don't have a good reputation around here, mostly for treating employees and everyone else like crap, and not paying much. We've hired so many of their drivers away there's a bunch of joking about them needing to build a taller fence (our yard is 4 miles from theirs). I don't like delivering there, everyone seems perpetually in a bad mood.

Hopefully, their Aberdeen location is better. Though, you'd likely make better money at our Aberdeen plant :p

I hope knowing the manager she wouldnt lie to bring me in but the seem cool.
I know 3 of the driver their also from sysco and the havent really complained about anything .
Aberdeen pays , Guys are making 1100-1300 working a 4 day week. The minimum is about 280 a night. Now Delivering there as an otr driver is miserable from what i hear.
Conklin needs to lock the door to keep the drivers in huh.

They may have a better culture at that yard. I know the culture varies quite a bit around the various Frito Lay plants and DC's I've been to, with the plant I'm based out of being the best (not biased because I'm still new. It just is). Aberdeen is a bit more grumpy but still not bad. Killingly CT is one of the rare union plants and I have yet to see one of their drivers in a good mood. (( Not to say that the union has anything to do with that, or not...our Bronx DC is union and they're great. ))

I've known a few guys at Maines...the one who still works there largely does peddle runs, mom & pops and small stops, and really does not make much money at all. Another, who no longer works there, was on Darden accounts and did quite well for himself. Quit and moved on because he got tired of unloading, went flatbedding for another local outfit.

Well fun filled day at the office, I changed a head light this morning that was fun to do with the corrosive salt and darkness. I did get it changed though.

Other then that typical aggravations and non aggravations, but I got done for the most part on time, today so whatever it all works.

I've delivered to Killingly the do seem standoffish and Aberdeen seems cool to me or atleast the people I interact with. Lynch-burg is probably the best I've dealt with.

If it was mom and pops I would've run I did that alreadt the idea of having one customer is beautiful.

So much fun. Try changing a fuel filter in those conditions.

Yesterday after I finished my first stop I ran next door to a Speedway station to get a coffee refill. There was a little snow on the ground on top of a whole bunch of ice. I was being very careful on the walk over/back to the truck. I was almost back to the truck and went to step over one of those rounded curbs and it was...HELLO BOOTS...HELLO ICE...HELLO HEAD...HELLO PAVEMENT.
I laid there for a minute and slowly got up. Felt the back of my head and didn't feel any blood, which is a good thing. Grabbed my hat off of the ground, put it back on, grabbed my coffee cup(which didn't spill(Thermos tumblers rock)) and slowly walked back to the truck without getting horizontal. Was really sore afterwards. Moved a lot slower as well. A few stops later I hit up a Walgreens for some Tylenol Arthritis. Took three on an empty stomach. Turns out they don't really mix well with coffee.
Woke up this morning and it felt like someone lightly had their hand around my throat. Made it through the day and was moving a lot better. One more day to go and hope to be feeling a lot better.

I got to work at 3am today because I had a goofy temp stop way out of the way ended up doing that and got back kind of early ended up waiting for an hour at my last stop, but what ever had time to walk over to Wendy's and get lunch, that's about it.

Speaking of Wendy's. Had that for lunch today too. They got rid of their spicy chicken nuggets. Sad day my friends. Sad day.
