Our reefer broke down with refrigerated product inside. Trying to figure out the best of our situation right now and how to go about it without screw broker, or ourselves over. I am looking for a cold storage to store the product and find a trailer rental to deliver the load. Is that the best way to go about it? I have not idea if the product is still good or not. Looking for advice on what to do in this situation.

where are you. what temp is the product supposed to be? what temp did the box get to?
-
Currently in Amarillo, Tx, product temp is supposed to be 20 degrees, it currently is at 32 (I think, reefer is done)
-
How far are you from the Consignee?
Do you know what might be wrong? -
Yes had a tech check it out. The engine is done. We are about 1300miles from first drop.
-
i'd hit a carrier/TK shop, might be a simple problem. is it defrosting? 32 box temp on a 20 degree load shouldn't be a big deal.

Most reefer repair outfits prioritize repairs for trailers carrying temperature controlled cargo in transit
Yes there are cold storage places, and that is another avenue that you can use.TallJoe Thanks this. -

Any suggestions? We are on i-40 and can't find anyone that will accept us today or have space.

Hope this helps.
Yellow pages link showed 18 more "storage" places, though I'm sure they aren't all Cold Storage.
