I think your understanding of physics is not your friend right now. Both the trailer and tractor are class 2 levers. The fulcrum is at the end, tandems for the trailer, drive axles on the tractor. The load is in between the fulcrum, and the effort, in the case of the trailer, that would be the kingpin, in the case of the tractor, the fifth wheel is the load and the front axle is the effort.
Unless you are driving a tractor with a stinger, your fifth wheel is at or ahead of the center of the drivers, which means shifting the tandems back increases the load between the fulcrum and the effort, the front axle. You WILL NOT take weight off the front axle. Look at your pictures. Your fifth wheel is ahead of center.Jdm5jdm5 Thanks this. -
