Well that sucks. Where in DE did it happen? If it isn't under warranty I can suggest a shop and a tow company if you need......

I have no warranty. I was at Penn Grove, NJ and a tow truck company name B&F towing picked me up already at 6AM today. I am at a shop named Deep Water in Carney Point and the first one in...should be done by noon.Question, is there anything I can do with the Freightliner shop that charge me almost 600 for a diagnostic and failed to see the problem? I would like them to pay for my tow at the most.

Ok that's good. I don't think you will get them to pay for that.
You can ask the shop there what they think.

I spoke to Freightliner and as suspected they blamed it on my "bad luck". That is exactly what they said... "When we diagnosed the truck everything was fine it was simply bad luck. Well truck is headed back south loaded and running smooth. I wanted to take this opportunity to let you all know that the small repair shop at Carneys Point, NJ named Deep Water were nice people and really knew what they were doing price was fair and they were very efficient. If anyone ever has the misfortune to get stranded look them up, they are professionals. image.jpeg

Continue to have headaches with this truck as it continues to use 1 to 2 gallons every 800 miles. I went to Freightliner to have it diagnose again and nothing according to them is wrong with it. So know I went to another mechanic in my area, not a big time like Freightliner and this mechanic is telling me that he wants to disable the EGR instead of changing it because of the high cost. Can someone with some expertise in this department please tell me if this is a good idea. Also, when the truck is turned on after it has been sitting overnight a huge amount of white smoke from the pipe comes out, this worry me as Freightliner did the overhaul and I don't know if they just don't want to re-do the work.

If you're still under warranty from the overhaul I wouldn't do anything to it. Probably not a good idea to let anyone else touch it either
