Hi: USF Holland is hiring like crazy in the Milwaukee Area? (City drivers) What's going on and what can I expect from an interview I have scheduled? I am single Dad, so most likely only able to work days. Is it a good enough job to try to get care for my daughter, so I can work for them whenever they need me? Thanks...

As far as I know, you'll work 14 hours a day. I am scheduled for a road test this coming Thursday. Hiring process has been well over 2 weeks now.

Not sure if they are playing on there old union tricks, basically every union company is 90 consecutive working days to get hired on, I've known driver's that left there because of that. I hope that all has changed for you and you will have a long career there.

They're also hiring around here. A friend works there, say's it's screwed up, but he can work around their screw-ups. And works long days.

You understand the company wants that probationary period, right? Supervalu BEGGED us to extend the time to 60 WORKING days during our last contract negotiation. It used to be 45 calendar days. Either way, a new employee better keep his nose clean in the first part of his employment.skinnytrucker and rocknroll81 Thank this.

The 90 day goes back to the mid 80's if I recall, Corn Flake told me that when I talked to them. But that was in the Milwaukee area. Everybody had to start out as a casual, some guy's were still casual going on 5 years.Pintlehook Thanks this.
