does every company out there look down on an accident in which there was a head on collision due to car losing control? It happened over a year and a half ago.
Backstory is I was merging from two lane to one lane and had to speed up slightly above speed limit to merge. This is the only accident I've had in 10 plus years, but I've had 3 different companies tell me they couldn't employ me.
Edit: this was my personal vehicle and it happened more than a year prior to me getting my CDL license..
and in NO WAY am I not taking responsibility for it
One accident.

One wreck (not an accident, it was poor driving) will not kill your chances. Your attitude might be a problem though.
You did not have to exceed the speed limit, you chose to causing a wreck. If you would have slowed down and gotten behind the vehicle no wreck.
Going in with the attitude of not my fault, the world is picking on me will get you nowhere. -
Ok. Thanks. Was more or less labeling it an accident because it wasn't done on purpose. It was a poor decision in which I paid for, but it was an accident which resulted in a wreck. To say I chose to cause a wreck is wrong.Last edited: Feb 16, 2017

I do realize that. Maybe I worded it wrong. I've apologized for the mistake plenty. I'm fairly certain people are allowed to occasionally make a mistake though. That was mine. I'm not disputing that. But, I don't feel like my body of work driving for over 20 years should be tarnished for one mistake. Neither did my insurance company.

Especially at yields where you have this itty-bitty turn out lane that gives you 25 feet of run before it merges. Always hated it, but I'd also nearly always stop. *shrug* Tis what must be done to preserve yourself, career & equipment.pattyj Thanks this.

Unfortunately companies don't wanna hear anything you have to say. They see your record and you're guilty as charged. They have policies and no driver can change it.Some companies are stricter then others.Even if you have a crystal clear MVR before this accident companies do not care.Point is this was a bad accident by from what I read and it happened not too long ago.So you may have to wait a few yes.

No but your choice led to the accident if you had made a better or different choice it may of avoided it. This is how safety departments see it aswell as insurance companies... You may not of chose to get into a wreck but you chose to accelerate and lost control.

The car lost control? Cars don't lose control.
What were you charged with? -
Nothing.
