Go with a company that has a guaranteed minimum weekly paycheck.
    West Side Transport
    K&B Transportation
There's more, I don't remember the names now.

If it was me? I'll ask for .60 a mile. .50 being entry level pay for new drivers and approaching .80 a mile for experienced drivers with 5 to 10 years.

Starting pay in my time during the 80's was around .21 a mile or 25% of gross each week.

Regarding the feast and famine way of life, I strongly suggest filing Perdium flat rate each tax year (Do not allow your company to claim that on you) is a path forward to building a nice set of Savings in which to store your money when it is not being active.

A large amount of savings, added to it each month is a boon. It's one of the hardest things to do in Life. Especially when a board looks empty and every card turned has had something to with the moon hand over please.

You must be a super crappy white Volvo driver with flip flops and a track suit if you are still making .35cpm!! Wake up and smell the benjamins!!

Now now, go easy on him. .35 is so like 90's that ship sailed a long time ago.

I think we can do without the opinion on bad volvos and a bigger swipe taken at the Driver's situation. I'll let the mods deal with you. There is nothing good for me to work on here.

Why would you want to have some one endure bad things or bad pay? Do you have that much negative feelings that needs a bit of counseling to clear out of your system?

Try to have a good night. Trucking is not for everyone. Thank a trucker who bought you your daily bread today.

Ya know what? I'll do one better and honor your request to be ignored. That is a nice list to be on so that you do not have to deal with me anymore. Right click my handle and then add to ignore list. And you are welcome.

If you have that kind of experience and are only making 35 cpm you are doing something wrong.

    I"m not doing anything wrong.

.50 cpm isn't offered around here. .40 cpm isn't even offered around here.

    .32 - .38 is what's offered around here. Or 25%. Which comes to roughly .34 - .35 cpm.

and THAT'S 3 different companies in 6 years.
