Biggest pet peeve (and Lord there are many) goes like this:

7:35 AM forty-five miles from Chicago.
"Hey West Bound, how's traffic look through Chicago this morning?"

The city, rush hour times and directions change of course but get this,

I am in MO on Fri. night and I can tell you NOW what traffic is going to be like Monday morning in Chicago at 8 am. Good grief! It has been lousy there during rush hour twice a day at a minimum for the last decade and a half. A driver ought to expect this after a month on the road.

That and the constant litany of "Dam four wheelers don't know what they are doing." Yah, I get it. It isn't going to change. No matter how often you repeat it. Know What To Expect.

My peeve is drop & hooks that suddenly turn into a live load. Show up on time for the D&H, find out there's no trailer, and you'll be loaded tomorrow morning. Nothing like spending the night at a paper mill. And they still expect the load to get there on time. 1000 miles in 29 hours, including a 10-hour break, two hours of shifting practice (Chicago) and a couple 7% grades. I was an hour and a half late, and thought that was pretty #### good.
