    True, but, the same applies to doing the same with 4 inch straps on mounted winches, and that's how most flat bed guys do it.

    Head to Wally World, in the camping section they have elastic(cloth covered bungie loop straps with a ball end) I used them for the loose ends of straps. looked professional and the LEO's liked them. about $3 for a dozen and re-usable.. steady use will last 6 months or so.

    Sometimes I needed to use a strap or two on a tilt deck. Doesn't work too well then.

    Miniature bungee cords fixed it up in those situations.
