Would anyone like to give their thoughts on the current financial crisis and how how it relates to the trucking industry? I'm alittle worried. I go off with my trainer on tuesday and hope to keep on driving, safe and legal of course. What do you think???

 

The financial crisis is massive, and it could take us into a depression. The news has tried to minimize this problem for the past year. They and many others like to try and think positive, as if it will make things better. This has changed. The news is now talk'n a little mote sober than they did. Some have even motioned depression.

I started coming to this website 5/08 to try and get a fix on the trucking industry so as to determine if it would be a job to get into under the circumstances. I started by picking peoples brains on trucking outfits and came to focus on Schneider. There was denial and positive thinking when I asked questions about getting into driving. And I was, in way, by some, condemned for asking negative thinking questions.

Do not depend on any job. Save as much money as you can. Tighten your belt. It can't hurt you.

My take is the problem goes back to the 1970's and our countries failure to move into solar and wind energy in a major way. Why, because oil controls our politicians and oil companies didn't want solar as a competitor. One thing leads to another, and now were here, in a major crisis. This is an over simplification, there are many other facets to this problem; the Mexican invasion, jobs to China, etc.


Our country can not survive if it's people to do not produce; using our resources. this is the basis of a powerful country. (Now just look at China they are the new power in this world and our corporations handed in over to them).

Saving would not be the worst thing I could do. If you want to spend so be it.

We are already going into a depression why do you think their going for the 700 billion dollar bail out. They will print the money making our money worthless. I'll give you an example, a news report came out that the government has stopped selling gold coins because they can not keep up with the demand. Our money is becoming worthless, big time.

We have already spent ourselves into oblivion. We as a people had no right believing we could buy, buy,buy and not produce anything. I suppose you think Americans are working. They are not. Working is the production of something meaning full out of our own resources. We must not send jobs to our enemy China and export our resources to China and expect that Americans are some how meaningful and productive.
