    Hello all,

I have just joined this forum. I have a few questions that maybe someone could answer. I recently graduated from NETTS and have a Class A license with a Double/Triple and Tanker endorsement, and will be getting a Hazmat endorsement shortly. So here are my questions....
Everywhere i look at job postings they require experience, but how does one gain exeperience if they all say experience?
Also my driving record is not that clean. I have one ticket in 06, one in 05, one in 04, and one in 03. I dont have any DUI or accidents. When companies look up your driving record do they get it from the DMV or from my insurance company?
Is there anyone on here that's from New England that can suggest any companies that i can try to apply to? At this moment i dont really care how much they pay or what kind of work it is. I just want experience. I should probably mention that Im not really looking for long haul jobs.
Thank you everyone for your time.

Many companies will accept recent trucking school in lieu of experience. 4 tickets in 5 years is a lot! What are they for? That could present a problem for you.

03 was speeding. 04 was speeding. 05 was failure to stop and 06 was failure to obey.

Speeding by 10 and speeding by over 15 are very different. You will have to hunt for someone to hire you I would bet. Many companies don't hire out of the New England area. Look at some of your local companies or O/O to try and build experience.

Usually companies allow 3 moving violations within the past three years unless it is considered a major violation.. Those would be such as 15 MPh or over, reckless driving, following to close ext.. with the economy slowing down the demand for truckers is just not there as it was. They are going to take somebody with a better recored over you for insurance reasons.. So, it is going to be a little harder for you to find a job then it has been in the past. There is somebody who will hire you.. Just need to keep checking.. Usually the larger companies will like USX, Schneider, Swift, Werner ext..

Put NETTTS to work for you. They have job placement assistance and seeing that you paid good money to go there - make them work for you.

    Just my .02

    Good Luck!

Yes netts does have job placements but they only do companies like swift, wierner and rhoel. I'm really not looking for anything over the road right now. But i was thinking if I get a hazmat endorsement i will have a better chance. I saw a bunch of ads in the paper that are looking for hazmat drivers. If not then ill get a warehouse or office or something like that and wait for some stuff to get off my record and keep trying.

    Good luck....

If you wait 3 months. You'll have to go back for a refresher. Before anyone will even talk to you.

But, that office or warehouse job looks to be your best bet for awhile.
