What would you have done?

How long have you been driving?I ask because you don't be nice to drivers so they can get around.You keep driving stay in your lane he will eventually pass you.Don't pull a stupid stunt like that again.

 

I've driven that road many times. There is tons of Good passing area's. I will hold my travel lane but thank you for your concern

 

A speed limit it's just that....the speed limit. No law anywhere states you must do the speed limit in order to drive on that road. Sure, there may be areas that require you to do a minimum speed in order to be in the left lane, or even drive on that roadway, such as a turnpike.

Doing 65 in a 75 is not unreasonable, unsafe, nor illegal. If someone wants to pass, then they can pass when it's legal and safe to do so.

Learn patience.....save a life, be kind to mother earth and save some fossil fuels.

Being flipped of by some ####### isn't gonna provoke a response from me.

When I moved to TX it was the first time I saw this practice of driving on the shoulder to allow a pass on the Farm to Market roads (FM). If you can safely do it, I would do it also.

 

I could be wrong but I think the oversize didn't pass him after the op got on the shoulder because the oversize didn't trust ops actions whether he's going to suddenly start driving back on the highway again or what.

 

How long have YOU been driving? Why would anyone NOT want to be courteous while doing their job? In Texas, it is perfectly legal, safe, and appreciated by most when folks who are poking along at a slow pace make way for those who are running closer to the speed limit. Hell, if I've got my cruise set at 72 in a 70 and somebody catches up to me, and I'm in Texas, I move to the shoulder and allow them to get along on their way. Doesn't take long for them to dissappear off in the distance ahead of me. I don't understand where people in slow trucks get that attitude that "If this is all the faster I can drive, nobody else should be able to drive any faster"...while at the same time feel entitled to pull out and pass the guy who just happens to have a truck that's 1/4 mph slower.

If you have a slow truck, stay out of the way. If you're in the way and you have the ability under the law to get yourself OUT of the way, then do it. There is no good reason not to.

 

What would I have done? Flipped him off back.No seriously,everybody has "reasons" for going slow sometimes.Maybe,trailer is catching wind,or there is deer and elk in the area,maybe truck is neutered,maybe can't see,cause Fed Ex "trashed their windshield".JMO

 

The oversize was impatient from the get go so why be curteous to that and make matters worse by put putting along on the shoulder.You worry about yourself first not being respectful to drivers like this oversize.That's what I'm saying.Then pulling over on the shoulder was not smart at all.
