What would you have done?

Some states require you to be a certain speed within the posted speed limit or take another route.

Other states allow you to travel at a slower speed but require you to have your four-ways on and/or yeild to other traffic.

 

I would have done exactly what the MachoCyclone did.

I know what you would have done; called the state troopers and said some guy pulling an oversized load seems like he's drunk.

 

Nope I would have kept my speed and let the oversize worry how's he going to pass me.I can't keep pulling over just because someone wants to pass me,I wouldn't get anywhere that way.But if he's tailgating like this guy was I would have gradually slowed down then put my flashers on he would have likely passed me and probably wouldn't have given me the one finger salute.

 

Driving 65 is not one of those instances.

The other driver was simply impatient, running behind, or what ever. He should have planned better.

I drive 63 MPG period, except California where I do 55. At that speed, it is legal for me to drive in any road in this nation. I'll be ###### if I'm going to allow someone else to intimidate me into speeding up or pulling over.

As a CHP officer once told me on the CB, "that's ok driver. That's why I have a brake pedal. If I need you to move, I'll throw my lights on."

Too many drivers think that just because their truck can go X speed, that's what they think they have to do. It's not. You must allow for delays on your route and adjust your driving times accordingly.

 

If it's at least 2 lanes going the same direction he can kiss my butt and go around when he finds a safe opening to do so. That's why it's the "passing" lane.

 

I'm trying to imagine being behind you as you run off the road twice trying figure out what the hell you're doing. I have no patience with tailgaters, but I also have no patience for unpredictable behavior.
I have a policy: I control the driver behind me's time to react. If he won't allow enough distance for reaction time I can give him enough time to react by slowing to a speed appropriate to his following distance. I also reduce my speed when being passed as a courtesy but.... The real tailgating pr!cks usually see me accelerate as they try to pass. I am more than capable of being a jerk! LOL
