MC You followed the Texas law, drove the way the local culture operates on those roads, and tried to be a courteous driver to a fellow 18 wheeler. Good job, have no regrets.

You want a cookie every time you do something nice for somebody? Come on. With the exception of @MachoCyclone and a few others, don't none of y'all get to complain about how truckers drive and treat each other for the rest of the month with that attitude. Me first, screw them and what the law says/allows, speed up while someone is passing... Y'all are the poor drivers here.

I had a driver do for me what Macho did a few weeks ago and I was most appreciative. They didn't have to break speed and I shagged *ss and got on by him. Worked out fine for everyone. People who want to go faster than me don't bother me at all. Let em. No sweat off my brow and they'll rustle up any cops that might be ahead. Its you taint lickers that want to make some sort of personal stand with your slow driving that are vexing.

I was born, raised, and still live in Texas out in a rural area. So, I grew up with this habit along with waving at the oncoming traffic.

I'm a respectful driver and never have had anyone flip me off or call the cops on me so I must be doing something right. But I'm not going to go out of my way with being curteous.

Many of them shoulders in Texas are better than the main roads in other states. Most of the shoulders I have seen in Texas are meant to be used!

No one here is suggesting bending over backwards to further someone else's interests at the expense of your own but part of being a decent person is being courteous whether its recognized or not.
