OK watched video unplugging it won't work in the newer trucks you could install the proper resistor to make it think it is 70+ but would require splicing wires. They also moved that sensor to the inside of convex mirror

You WILL destroy your ATD if you idle too much. And it won't be covered by warranty. I

Did you ask the Fleet Manager how to disable it? I'm sure he will gladly tell you how to do it.

By the way, wasn't there something in your employee handbook about what will happen to you if you're caught altering their equipment? ;-)

My 2015 cascadia has the temp sensor in the bottom of the driver's side mirror. Just do what the other guy suggested, get a hand warmer activate it and tape it to the underside of the mirror. It'll given you about 10 hours of heat to idle

If this MY17 Cascadia is a DD (which 90% chance it will be) the ACM will have logic to auto elevate or simply request to do certain types of regens more often to help combat excessive idling conditions. In this case with excessive idling, the term would be called HC loading. The DOC would act like a sponge and absorb all the unburnt fuel until the it reaches activation temp. Then it would simply get converted into more ash for the DPF to get filled up faster, thus, ACM would request more regens.

This thread is a good example of what drivers should be asking recruiters BEFORE they get on the Greyhound bus and head out for company orientation.

    Pay attention newbies...

HC loading? I'd like to see this info. I've never heard of it.

Auto elevate will not stop DOC face plugging.

Yeah...easy. Check your PSL in the A&I guide. Talks all about it, pal.

    8  Features

    8.1  Auto-Elevate Idle
The Auto-Elevate Idle feature eliminates the hydrocarbon buildup before reaching critical levels by automatically increasing engine RPM. This process results in a temporary increase of exhaust temperatures that effectively oxidizes the hydrocarbon within the ATD.
    8.1.1 Operation
When Auto-Elevate is enabled, after a predetermined amount of idle, DDEC 10 will automatically elevate engine RPM, typically seven to eight minutes, in order to raise exhaust temperatures and eliminate hydrocarbon buildup in the ATD.
The engine must be idling for a minimum of four minutes, park brake must be on and transmission in neutral (if equipped with a neutral switch). Engine speed is slowly elevated from idle to 1100 RPM for typically seven to eight minutes. It can run for a maximum of 20 minutes if the process cannot complete.
