Another newbie needs advice: Who to drive for?

i did 5 years with them and did well. good luck.

 

yeah i would go with Gordon, the other three i hear too much bad than i do good

I too am near completing school in Sac... Western Pacific TS.
After all the Sales Pitches i have heard all ready and reading all the

I love working for werner, but staying out of the super giants can be good or bad for you. Chances are in 1 year Werner will still be around, with fairly new equipment, and APU's on 80% of their fleet. Its one of the many reasons I am leary about leaving, the payrate here isn't the greatest but its far from the worst. Its about average really.

I'd chose Werner again knowing all I do, but for yourself, I am leaning toward Gordon. As I don't think Werner's training time is really the best way to learn.

 

Ive bee out here for less thatn a year and still consider myself a rookie. But of the co.'s you named i'd go with Gordon. If its reefer you want you could look into Western and Hill Bros. as well. Western is supposed to be lower pay but they have REEEAAALLLYYY nice trucks! That may or may not be worth something to you. And definetly keep reading on here about ALL the companies you are thinking of! Its all info. and that is key to a good decision. And remember, the company you choose has to feel right to YOU! There is no one "best" company, but this site will help you stay away from some of the "worst". You dont have to re-invent the wheel(at least not by yourself!)

 

dude, whatever you choose, if it doesn't work out you can move on after you get a little experience, look at the good company threads, highirish went from pam to crete and was pretty happy there. same thing happened for me, 6 mos with dick simon(nightmare). went to gordon, got a nickel a mile raise, ran up and down i5 and spent the night at my house once a week or more, got some respect from my dm too. all in all, it was a good move for me. that's why i spent 5 years there.
