The reverse selector has a low and high side keep it in low and give it very little gas when backing.Brake if you have to but gently. It takes time but you'll learn with the more backs you do.Just passing by, G13Tomcat and Puppage Thank this.

I used to the brake but it seemed to do very little. It was already in low reverse but it was my first time in the driver seat of a big rig so it seemed fast to me lol. I am currently at lunch we go back out in the yard in 30 minsLepton1 Thanks this.

I hope so. I breezed by all the tests to get my permit but now that Im actually driving and can't straight line back. My morale is pretty low
-
Straight line is easy once it clicks for you. Give it more then 5 min and your get it.

The students who got it already have trucking experience and had cdls in the past. First time ever driving a stick shift. Im not the only one who struggled but it's still demoralizing considering many people have stated straight backing is the easiest thing we will learn
-
Remembering you are learning so don't beat yourself up. Be patient with yourself you will get it. Remember you use to not know how to use the toilet boy are we glad you learned

. Don't over think it also. Give it a little practice doesn't matter how much. You will get it. I've been there too.
Just passing by, Friend, 91B20H8 and 3 others Thank this.
