Get on the horse let's go.
Seeing him battle weight and lose it is all that I need to know because he will make a good driver.
I will set aside my own feelings about autos long enough to tell you that he should be in a auto, for his own sake more for the pain than anything else with a manual. I don't wish anyone pain. Rushhour on the LIE will kill him. stopping and starting every 10 feet for a couple hours.
He can stand to lose a little more weight, how better than to throw boxes of meat from slipsheet and floor of trailer to the pallets at the Union Grocery warehouses?
The biggest threat is the food. If he does not work hard that food will cause him to gain weight again. Obviously having lose the weight he said he did he knows what foods to eat and how much when.
If you fall off the horse you gotta spend some time with it to make amends, then get back into that saddle. Or just go home and forget it.
There is one more thing. Medcines for pain. If he is taking anything Narcotic He will need a note from the pain doctor stating exactly what he is taking a particular medicine for, how much per day and that the medicine is not expected to screw him up mentally or cause him to be unfit to drive a 18 wheeler. As I type this Im on some myself but it's not enough to cause me problems in driving. Usually. On bad days I don't drive. And I have ostopenia which is early onset osoterposis liek 25 years prior to expected occurence in elderly people on T1 through T12, there is no surgery for that kind of problem, unless someone starts to build and install replacement Spines which isnt too far off the way medicine is progressing these days.
He might have to stop and withdraw the narcotic properly, that takes anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 months. Then he will be clean enough (Pee test a few hours, blood 12 to 20 hours and hair months)
