So remember back in August when I got my "new" truck and I said that I thought there was coolant in the oil? Wrote it up for the a PM, nothing done about. Wrote it up, plus occasional metal shavings for the B PM. No more metal in the oil.
Yesterday trainee fired the truck up and something sounded a little weird. He starts moving and it feels weird too. Stop, pop the hood, nothing appears amiss. Check the oil and guess what? Metals back.
Get to Gary late afternoon, check in with the shop, go to hotel. Call shop in the morning and they say it will be done at 1500. Check back at 1500, mechanic says he's getting on it now. 1600 they've confirmed there's metal in the oil and must await a decision from higher up.
A) why the #### didn't they find this on the B PM?
B) why the #### did it take 24 hours to confirm what took me less than 5 minutes to discover?

You took it to the wrong shop.91B20H8 Thanks this.

Would that I had a choice. I had been going to be routed to Edwardsville for the pm, but a hairline crack on the octopus valve put paid to that.

You guys must hire your professional parts changers from the same place we do.AM14 and milehunter43 Thank this.

I would run my truck till it blew up to avoid certain shops to get it to one I trusted. Ever since my 09 century put me down 8 times in 2 weeks, and 5 shops "fixed " it, only to break again 300 miles later.milehunter43, 91B20H8, gentleroger and 1 other person Thank this.

What turned out to be the issue with that?

Main fuse kept blowing. Instead of investigating WHY it was blowing, they simply replaced the fuse and told me it was fixed.
Finally getting it to the right shop, they troubleshooted why it was blowing and found a pinched bare wire running under cab, replaced and rerouted the wires, all fixed.gentleroger and SingingWolf Thank this. -
Looks like it. Changed the filters and "it's good to go driver!"PoleCrusher Thanks this.
