It's interesting to me that you are spending time on a forum defending a company with a bad rep instead of recruiting...
I can tell you from personal experience that this does not work...

JB quit calling me because they assured me they could pay me what I was getting, and give me better benefits than what I have now.
When I got thru explaining who I worked for and what we did, and my pay and benefits I recieved, the recruiter appologized and I have never heard from them again.
I have a couple of friends who have worked there a couple of times, they say when the freight is there it is ok. But the freight is not alway's there, and it is bad sometimes they have told me.
I have since talked both of them into quitting JB and coming to work where I am employed and they are happier than ever.

ME_at_JB you are a typical recruiter, I think recruiters should be banned from this site. You will never understand the drivers side of this arguement only the impression you get from the other pencil_____ you work with. I am telling you right now I have been on the road for awhile and never have I met a JBH million miler. JBH is a bait and switch company, they lure you in with promises of rapid raises in pay and excellent benefits then once you get to your first pay raise boom all the sudden you are not getting any miles. I have heard this from easily 100 drivers, you know they say 1 person says something it could be crap, 2 or more people say something maybe you should pay attention. Everyone in this industry says JBH sucks get the message. Besides I am an avid OOIDA member I swore off cheap freight so I could never work for a company that rails freight at .60 a mile.:smt067 JBH

About four years ago I got fed up with Swift and went to orientation with JB. The guy doing the class spent an hour telling us about how the top paid drivers made alot of their money recruiting other drivers. Then he handed us a paper and asked us to give JB the names and phone numbers of every driver we knew. For every driver we put down we got a $10 voucher for a resturant around the hotel we were staying at.
We were also told that about 2400 miles a week was normal there and not to expect to get much more. I stayed till the end and got my orientation money then went to a differnt company the next week. Something about that orientation just seemed kind of sleazy to me I was afraid to actually work for them. -
Oh Boy...FUN TIME!!!
The problem with your limited view of things is simple. You absolutely do get phone calls, and I doubt that too many of them are people who read this board, and others like it. You see, our goal is that if it saves one person a week from stepping over that line to enjoy some of the misery that the company you recruit for can dish up, and has dished up so many times for so many people, then this board is effective enough, and it meets the goal. No one person, or entity can save the industry, but we all CAN save it, one person at a time.
However, I am relatively sure that it has been far more effective than you would dare give it credit for. The word is out, and the tactics that JB Hunt recruiters have taken lately are evidence of that alright. You people are ruthless and will stop nothing to obtain a driver's phone number and address.
The only thing I find funny about all of this, is the fact that you think you're going to retire from working as a driver recruiter for that company. I doubt they hang around much longer than the drivers do. So, in that light, we can expect that in the next month few months, you'll be back here with the little joke you think you have? -
I wonder how many drivers he recruits over the phone?

Experienced drivers know the score, and there's nothing at all that any experienced driver would encounter on the job with JB Hunt, than they would anywhere else. Experienced drivers are not going to put up with things like inadequate mileage, and sitting all the time. Experienced drivers are not going to put up with things like not getting them home when they are promised. Experienced drivers are not going to put up with mealy mouthed dispatchers that treat grown men like children, when the fact is, they might be children themselves. Now these are only three of the top reasons drivers complain about that company. There's much more....
One point I continuously drive into the ground, is that you can easily overlook a FEW negative comments. It's a little harder to ignore hundreds, or thousands of comments of a negative nature.
So now that we have THAT clarified, let's do some comparisons that mean something. You want names of some of the more widely known and larger companies that do not receive anywhere near the bad karma that JB Hunt does?
Let's start with Roehl, Millis Transfer, Watkins Motor Lines, KLLM, CFI, Maverick, Averitt, US Xpress, Marten, Jevic...How many more do you want?
Whether or not you realize it, and it appears that you do not, it's a very cumbersome process to hire on to a trucking company these days. I've never met a driver that LOVED changing jobs. They in fact, hate the process of having to go elsewhere. When drivers quit, it will be due to the fact that things are not going to apparently be worked out, or due to the fact that they've encountered one of you bright people....who have totally misrepresented the facts and conditions.
And I hate to remind you, but...you're a recruiter, and you don't "hire" anyone. You recruit...remember? I don't want to burst your bubble head, but you're not really as valuable to the company as you would care to think you are. I guess you're hoping for that big chance in the CEO's chair someday, where you will REALLY be able to look down your nose at people.

ME_at_JB? With that attitude he shoots himself in the foot more then signing anybody on. I can picture somebody like that trolling the missions and low rent areas for candidates... -
He is a bottom feeder for sure, and probably recruites about the same quality of driver's because the rest of the driver's are smart enough to turn heel and run!
