I do not think someone with just six months experience can be a trainer. It just is wrong. Nor do I believe someone can drive after just a two or three weeks of school, it is dangerous enough out on the road with the bad truck drivers, which 2010 is about to rectify, and the unsafe companies as well. I am a advocate for safe truck driving and protecting the drivers and public. Fatigued drivers being some of the most dangerous, and team drivers being the most fatigued! You can not get good quality rest with the truck in motion, I know I have been putting together the study for a very long time. Solo drivers on paper logs are also some very fatigued drivers and fatigued drivers are a danger to us all.

I'm going to bump this thread - because I'm part 2 of a couple that will be going through the Central mill - LOL! How are the trainers now? Hubby (and myself when I start) will be starting out of Fontana... does that make a difference? I guess I'm getting a bit of the 'what ifs' going on right now...

Nope you're not the only one - I'm going to be starting school the first of February - most likely in Fontana... then join my husband (Klingon) who is in training now. Welcome !!

I'm wondering if you were able to get a training program together. My husband and I have been team driving together for many years as well as solo. We'd like to train our son in law but are not sure if we can log it. Being that I will need to be able to stay up while he's driving and possibly take over if he gets into trouble during the shift. Please if you have any advice, if love some input. Thank you in advance.
