good luck with all that. loud pipes save lives. plus the weaker a Jake brake the less effctive they are. look at the freight liner columbia's and teh sterlings. teir jake brakes in my opinion are almost non existant

Socy it didn't look like more regs.............YET.

If the locals cooperate they might not get the new regs for a little while longer.

Noise is not a measure of braking capacity, and the C-Brake on the Columbia I drove was effective and not noisy, unlike the Jake on that N-14 I have now. the best was on the Western Star, on a Detroit, but that one worked almost too well, and you could barely hear it. Engine brakes can be set up to be more effective, and the noise doesn't change much, at least on the regular compression brakes.

Percoset? They just gave me hydrocodone for mine.

Ah, the ever present jake debacle. We have (or had, dunno if they are still there) signs telling us no jakes. Problem being, there was still hill left after the signs. I refused to obey those signs as, in my mind, it was detrimental to my safety.

I personally don't see why you need to use jakes in town... I never did..... Most people do it simply because they think it makes them look cool... Many times I seen guys with loud pipes using them when they didn't have a load on??? what purpose did they have using them? These people are the ones who make it bad for everybody... Unless you really need to use them in town then you should not be.... The ones who thinks it makes them look cool are the ones who bring about these laws... I am not for any new laws... We are taking more and more freedom away from ourselves...
