You need to think first. Here is what will happen if he tells the truth.Dispatch will send him to safety.Safety will put a hold on him then send another driver to come get his trk and driver is fired on the spot and driver will have to figure out how to get home.Seriously do you think companies are honest with their drivers?Dark_Majesty_06, VIDEODROME, Dennixx and 2 others Thank this.

You do have a point. I think that the tooth ache thing sounds good but the fact again is, he is needed and he isn't lying about that and he's a good driver so he's just gonna be straight and tell them he needs a day or to he has a family emergency. Too much honesty can get you in trouble and he isn't being dishonest.
-
It would be different is he had been with them for a year at least and a "known commodity". He will be fine. I'm telling us both that. I don't want to do the job hunt again and we just now caught up. I for one can't take it again!

Family emergency is good.Let us know what dispatch says. Also he's a good driver so that's in his favor with dispatch.

Crap, I'm gonna have a stroke! I've got a new dishwasher in the middle of the kitchen that I'm gonna have to figure out how to install. Two new mirror's to figure out how to install in the bathroom. A pool that has black algie due to the filter dying last summer. I tried to keep up with it but black algie is hard to fix. My father is coming in two weeks and he is anal about the house looking good not to mention my husband working!
-
One more thing, your husband needs to call his company not you.Auctioneer, Dark_Majesty_06 and tscottme Thank this.

Now here comes the unsolicited advice- keep your strokes to yourself for the time being.
OTR is not easy work and it's hard enough coming up with reasons to stay working OTR. All the above makes it sound like you need help and would only lay guilt on your driver for being away.
You got to hold down the fort and hide some of the issues as best you can so that your driver can be on the road thinking about what he has to do.noluck Thanks this. -
Not true but then again, you don't know the dynamics here. Anyways, it doesn't look good. They said the boss is calling.
-
I would not do that. But thanks. He called, his brand new Drive manager, that he hasn't met said the boss would be calling.pattyj Thanks this.
