Going to a company that dispatches your truck. Is a down grade.
-
Staying at a company that going to force you to spend $6000 on an "upgrade" with no ROI just for the "privilege" of hauling their loads is just wrong and a crime against their current IC's.RStewart, PoleCrusher, scythe08 and 4 others Thank this.

I insist, especially if it's supposedly my truck, that I'm allowed to
1) Run ungoverned.
2) Talk on the phone.
3) No electronic mind control gizmos.PoleCrusher, SingingWolf, RootHog and 2 others Thank this. -
That's what company drivers do, not much difference.

Chances are if he has an SFI truck he already has the collision avoidance system on his truck... there are a lot of Ic's over here that really don't know how to dispatch themselves and need a dispatcher... some folks just don't have what it takes considering you got to be a load planner dispatcher at the same time and some folks just don't have it it's not as easy as some people think it is with some of these folks
MachoCyclone Thanks this. -
I couldn't say if he does or not. The On Guard issue was just one issue he had with Schneider. I don't know rates for the load board, but he was telling me the runs he likes where more often than not showing up on the board and when it did it was 89 cents a mile. Didn't get a chance for a in depth discussion about it.

Who says you have too stay. Also, there are other companies to work for, that don't dispatch you. I'm leaving next year. I bet you want see me going to a company for 90 cents.Opus, PoleCrusher, Cledus Snow and 1 other person Thank this.

Company drivers also shuttle trailers at companies whim and it's my understanding that the IC's are required to do that at Schneiders whim. So, what's your point?
I'm not required to spend an X amount of time on the road before taking home time, nor I'm limited on days like company drivers. -
Your choice. Just like that driver bringing his truck to JCT was his choice. Best of luck to you where ever you go.
