Any ideas? 2016 780 D13 90,000 miles . Dealer replaced crank position sensor camshaft sensor , batteries, checked injectors said OK said they found intermittent short in wiring harness
Still have a intermittent hard start, cranks but does not fire , usually when batteries have been drained slightly, but not always.this am it only set for 10 minutes no drain at all.

does it help if you try to hit the primer pump for about 10 times before you start sometimes the return check valve gets debris

Could also be a leak in the fuel system letting air in so the fuel drains back to the tanks. Usually an injector or a filter O-ring.

most likely an injector will cause this kind of issue i have found broken injectors before and everything came back perfect when i took them off the injector was broke in half had that happen with d13 twice

Crank or cam sensors wear out after a long time. Fault in the wiring harness I'd believe. I already hate the dealer you took it to, cause I don't think they know their stuff. We have the number 1 in the nation here in Phoenix.
I'd bet that harness is wreaking havoc with a low resistance fault on the ecm some place.
