I also went to the school outside of Denver, CO, its in Keenesburg, CO.
The school was great, i thought they set me up well, and they do the CDL test on site with their instructors, which takes some pressure away.
As with any mega company, be ready for some BS. Have thick skin, and get through that first year. Keep the nose clean, and drive safe and legal, and the opportunities for a much better gig will open up.
Dont do the lease unless you are very good with budgets and numbers. And can consistently drive over 8 mpg, and have gotten to know the planners.
Just my .02. Stevens is an awesome training/ first year company.
Good luck to you

Reefer..line up with a 100 other trucks wait 4 hours for loading or unloading, go wash out trailer...bring a gaming system and a seat cushion.
milehunter43 and passingthru69 Thank this. -
4 hours. I heard days lol
-
Nice trucks at Stevens set up for driver comfort. I'd probably go there over the other two.Longshott Thanks this.

Stevens is refer. Swift has dry van, reefer, and flatbed. School only trains you to pass the dmv test. Training for swift is like 240 hrs of driving. Training pay is your states minimum wage plus one dollar when on drive line. Minimum wage when on duty not driving. Swift takes out school pay out of your check the first 13 months
Then the next 13 months they put
It back. So in reality, you have to stay there 2 yrs before its free.Longshott Thanks this. -
Doesn't Stevens only pay like 30cpm? For reefer? No thanks
If you really want to go to a reefer mega that pays for CDL training go to Prime...39.5cpm and they have APUs. If you take a tiny sleeper truck they pay a couple cents more. Just DON'T LEASE -
Prime is ok, except for those tiny trucks with no storage space. Have to remove the passenger seat to have a refrigerator. Prime also has tanker and flatbed to choose from. Maybe can argue them into letting you have a full size truck.

Dont forget the super singles..all that safety garbage and send you down a wet road with super single..super cheap outfit.
I hate prime..everything SCREAMS CHEAP!Chinatown Thanks this. -
You guys have all been very helpful. Excited for Stevens
-
I'd rather have super singles with tread as opposed to Schneider's recaps with no tread that the shop just OK'd...twice the fun when the truck is a tag axle and it's winter in Bay City, Michigan!
How much are they paying you to start?
