Does anyone know how much FedEx Owner Operators get pay per mile as a new driver? I'm buying a truck soon and interested in FedEx. Let me know. Thanks.

    Have you owned trucks before?

Did you actually just call them and ask.

Maybe they don't need your trucks.

Does custom critical even do full 53' loads? All I've ever seen was the 26' box truck with a sleeper.

Sure, they do truckload expedite. That segment of trucking isn't for everyone. You'd think anyone really interested in leasing on with them would half ### know what they were getting into without asking such a basic question on the internet.

THIS APPLIES TO DRY VAN TRACTOR TRAILER DRIVERS ONLY
(FedEx Custom Critical Utilizes different sized vehicle's ranging from from sprinter vans to tractor trailers and a specialized refer division called the White Glove Division)
    FedEx Custom Critical pays:
    $1.50 per authorized loaded mile
$1.00 per authorized mty mile (up to 150miles)
+ Fuel surcharge on all miles (currently $0.20)

Plus some loads pay accessorials like toll money or multiple stop pay or Hazmat pay

This pay schedule looks good, but keep in mind it's expedite. So you can't just say "If I do 2500-3000 miles a week then I should make this.." it will NOT work out like that.

    Some FedEx Custom Critical Requirements:
    Occupational Accident coverage $145/mo
    Their bobtail coverage $23.50/mo
(You can keep your own bobtail, but 99% of the time it won't be compatible with their requirements)

    4 E-Trac shoring beams ($212)
$2,500 escrow taken out as $91/wk
$400 Qualcomm install taken as $65/wk
    Qualcomm service is $35/wk
    No trailer rental fee
Drive under their authority (no insurance fee)

I just started with them a while ago and thinking that it was a mistake. Not because the company is bad, but Custom Critical is an expedite company. I didn't realize this until orientation, haha. Expedite is NOT for everyone. I'm used to grossing $4,200 to $4,600 per week and getting regular sleep. With expedite, you can be a solo driver but feel like you're doing team truck work. Pickup appointments are at crazy hours early in the morning or late in the evening, and the delivery appointment is darn near precisely tuned to the length of miles the load is going non-stop.

FedEx Custom Critical is a VERY supportive company. They seem to be intent on fulfilling their Purple Promise which they take quite seriously. If you're capable of getting rest at odd hours on demand, then expedite might be the life for you and I would definitely recommend FedEx Custom Critical. Me, I can do it, however I'd prefer a more relaxed driving career.

If I got something wrong, please correct me. Thanks.

Why are you asking about miles. Did you not read what he said? The freight is limited. Why would anyone lease to a company paying set flat rates on expedited freight? One of the craziest things I ever heard of. But they can advertise a flat mileage rate 25 cents or 50 cents or however higher than general freight companies and watch guys line up asking how many miles they can get. Lol

It isn't about miles, it is about revenue per load.

My god this steering wheel holder miles thing is maddening.
