Companies will find out, so may as well be up front about it. After 5 years most companies will hire you. TransAm will hire after 2 yrs.

You would think that an expungement from Louisiana (where I was arrested) would keep employers from learning of it. My MVR comes back clean.

Sealed records don't mean diddly-squat these days. Some trucking companies pay big bucks to peep into potential drivers past.
I know a guy that owns an auditing company and he specializes in "deep audits" and gets paid big bucks for that service. He can find out if an employee stole a postage stamp 20 years ago. One customer paid him $40,000.00 to do a deep audit for him.
Trucking companies won't tell you why they're not going to hire you; they just say they found a more qualified applicant. They certainly won't admit to digging into an expunged or sealed record and face being sued.
Very few companies will push the limits, but some do.Last edited: Mar 5, 2017

Wow. I just got laid off and been applying to small, local oilfield service companies and out of the 8 or so that interviewed me, they all called me back 3 days after the interview and said, "you don't meet out insurance companies qualifications" or "we just hired the last guy we needed for now". -
Yep, that's the common answers along with "we hired a more qualified applicant."
Try Craigslist. Make some calls and leave some messages. Some of those small 1 or 2 truck outfits will probably hire you.ArkLaTexSaltwaterHauler Thanks this. -
Thanks. That's about all that is here for local guys here in the longview/marshall texas area

Depends on the disposition of the DUI itself, if it was dismissed they'll see the charge but can't use it against you. In either your not guilty. Order your criminal record, if you can't see it neither can they.
