oh...no. it is just my convoluted way of saying that i will read until late November what you guys are buying for elogs and then decide what I should get. Based on your views and reviews. I will just procrastinate until the last moment until I hear striking news they they suspend the elog mandate until further notice. I really believe that.

Actually we do use a machine to count cheese. Cheese is the biggest cost and has gone up by 500 percent since i have been around the pizza business. Not to mention workmans comp and insurance has quadrupled in the last 20 years. . Plus they made it impossible to give a high school kid a part time job. We now fill that position with adults. Cause you know, taking a pizza out of the oven is to dangerous for a 17 year old.

Point is, costs ALWAYS go up. We adapt and thrive or fail.

all our trucks are pre-2000 so I am not worried about it -- I am though waiting to see whats gonna happen when all these companys that are still holding out waiting for it to be dropped and then it don't. We are predicting more freight in the future because of these guys cheating the current HOS rules. The company that we haul for currently has its own trucks and I tell you what. No way they will be able to do the #### they do on a ELD.

Maybe so. Initially. But the rail will snatch at more Coast to Coast lanes, and depending on the uniformity of their requirements, they will edit/falsify elogs too. In order to eliminate the falsifying completely, everybody would need to be on Qualcomm and the likes of. I mean the set up, where there is an independent elog provider that tracks and keeps records independently.

I'm pretty sure it won't take too much for them to regulate how the data is to be held/verified once they have the ability to collect it (which mandatory ELD provides).

On the other hand I'm sure all sorts of hacks/patches are being developed currently to "massage" the results from an ELD, when there is big money at play people get creative...
