York, NE at the Petro.
Very windy. I was getting blown all over even with 25k in the box. And it gets worse the further west you go. I am headed to Cheyenne.
I was supposed to deliver tomorrow at 1200 at the Walmart DC, but the high winds are supposed to persist until tomorrow evening.
So I sent a mac 22 saying I would deliver at 1200 the next day.
What they sent back was a message that the load had been rescheduled, with a window until tomorrow at 2200.
Well, I have no desire to deliver in Cheyenne at 2200 and have no place to park with no hours left. And even trying for 2200 will leave me in all the high winds from here to there.
And, well... never mind. I just got a PTA update for 03/08 1230. Now I can proceed with my original plan of leaving early Wednesday morning after getting in a 34 to get my 70 back, and after I know the winds will be calm.

Gas n go, Grean river UT. Actually woke up to the sound of a load assignment hitting my phone. Not bad for coming off an extended hometime.
Picked up at Clearwater paper in North Las Vegas. Easy peasy drop and hook. Maybe I'll shake the van in Denver when I deliver. Of course it dosent deliver till the 8th. Unless safeway will let me bring it in early. #doubtful. -
Safeway in Denver?
I love that place... NOT!!!
My last time in Denver I was able to avoid a load with them. All was good. -
I had to replace my Coleman cooler today.
The inside fan stopped working, and a replacement fan didn't even start. Something in the wiring perhaps.
It still kept things cold at the front, but not so much at the back.
But I guess it was time, after a couple years of service.
Now everything is very cold.
This is the first time the inside fan has gone out. That is a rare thing. -
I would call the DC and ask them when the load has to be there. I've delivered to that DC 24 hrs AHEAD of the window Swift gave me and never had a problem.
-
That DC can be strange at times. Went in one time a little more than 24 hours before drop time and was refused and told to come back the next day. Then in the afternoon get a phone call and told to come in now.
-
There wasn't time to get it there early, and I wasn't going to drive through those winds in any case.
I'm afraid all those kids will have to wait an extra day for their cereal. -
Just got a message from the planner asking me to send an accurate eta once the weather settles down.
Like I'm just waiting and ready to start driving at any hour.
I said I already did that with the mac 22. -
Sounds like a newby just trying to do his/her job.
That said I agree with your original judgment. -
Delivered at Walmart and then picked up at Lowe's.
Then I shut down because I-80 is closed to light and high profile vehicles. 60+ wind gusts between here and Walcott.
I'm supposed to deliver near Salt Lake City tomorrow at 1600. If I can get going in the morning it'll happen, otherwise...SHOJim Thanks this.
