Well to be honest, wasnt trying to give anyone a hard time. I simply asked if he tried a spring shop. He mentioned several times bout being a dick, not me.
Hell, Ron let him know he was looking like a dick with in about the first few posts.
No, is the one in your avatar your daddys or somethingLast edited: Mar 8, 2017

The only reason I'm a dick is because there were only a couple of people that actually listened, the rest just jumped on the axle and skipped the actual question

I know ideally I would get a bigger axle but for the short amount of time it has alot of weiggt on it I'm not worried, your a farmer, you should just agree, if a farm truck starts it's good to go, isn't that how it works

IMO, if you want air ride and stability, swap in a Hendrickson Airtek rated for 14,600.
You got a 130" BBC w/ a 3700 gal tar pot behind it and you still have that much weight on the front sometimes. It doesn't sound like the factory took everything into account when they engineered the chassis.
Hope you find what you're looking for. -
Now now guys, behave! Would hate to see anyone get in trouble. None of you guys can't say you've overloaded your truck off highway? I sure have. Can't drag a jeep and booster everywhere.

I would have to agree with @nate980 , I am sure there are people on here that have overloaded the axle for various reasons... Think about it this way, non-steer lift axles your at maximum weight for the combination totally legal. Now you have to lift them because your making a turn, going around a sharp corner or going off-road.. Now your over your axle weights.. What are you going to do now??
This is one reason this forum sucks.. People automatically jump on someone for the dumb things.. If this original poster said he runs all day overloaded and doesn't use his lift axle then I could say yes he is stupid for overloading the axle when he shouldn't be.. If you get to a job site and it required not using it you don't have a choice..
Everything I am in a off-road situation and my steerable automatically lift when reversing I am overloading the axle for that short period of time.. It's impossible for me to leave my lifts down when backing because the trailer isn't designed this way..Jace379, ramblingman, Oxbow and 2 others Thank this. -
This is what kW 8 bag looks like hauling a 50 ton yarder off highway. Not the right suspension for the job but that is what we have.
As it was still needed more traction and needed a to skidder push me up the hill.

Just keep watching the camber on the front axle, when it goes away and the tires start wearing, go to a truck alignment shop and bend the front axle to correct the camber plus a little extra to compensate for the weight load. Had an R model mack with a 12000 lb front axle that carried 14500 when the lift axle was up to turn, etc. Every 6 months back to the shop for bending the axle. This was a long time ago. I actually broke the original front hub and put heavier ones on.
