Not much new over here in the northeast. Just got back from a 2 stopper in the bronx and queens with the liftgate. Even got the parking ticket to prove it!

 

For my year anniversary,abilene put me in a 16 freightliner.Might take a day or two to get used to,miss the space in the Volvo fridge,but can't complain.

Waiting for a trailer to come in heading to berea,ky.

 

How did that feel being on the other side of a ticket?

 

Bet you will miss the manual mode more. On the plus side, you will love the creep mode when backing up and the engine braking is fierce.

 

Are they moving away from the Volvos or was this just your luck of the draw?

 

Very sad news, I enjoy the solitude of trucking, but a situation such as that one is very sobering. Tomorrow isn't promised to any of us.

 

They get trucks in batches. Last new purchase was freightliner, before that Volvo etc.

 

@Redtwin,you weren't kidding about the Jake,came out the yard to the first light,on high,and it had me laying on the dash lol.

 

You are going to love it when descending hills. Fully loaded from Gatorade I can get down all the hills on 77 and 64 without my foot anywhere near the brake pedal. Just toggle between the 3 settings and flick gears up and down as needed.

Just watch out for that eco-roll though. It will throw the truck into neutral if you don't have the engine brake on.
