I think it was 2003. But that was with 2002 motor.

spyder7723 and rank Thank this. -
Daimler bought Detroit in 2000 I think if memory serves. And I may be off a year or so here but I want to say 2003 was the last year of getting a Detroit in a 379. I may be wrong but I think I'm close.
Lone Ranger 13, Oxbow, spyder7723 and 4 others Thank this. -
I saw a 2015 Fitzgerald 389 Pete with a DD series 60.
-

Ya i know they used to be available for a pete. I had a 377 with the 11.1 ddec II. Now that was a fuel sipping truck. I just can't remember when they stopped.

Hey next time you talk to him verify the year for me please. That's exactly what I'm looking for, a ddec iv in an extended hood.wore out Thanks this.

My 379 was averaging 6.5 mpg with a 550 Cat at about 62 mph at a gross wt of 77000 lbs. In the winter running from the Carolinas to California and back.
My fuel mileage was consistent.
So , 50 percent better fuel economy for a 579 would mean almost 10 mpg.
I would need some hard proof to believe that.rank Thanks this.
