Not sure how that relates to ground losses due to mounting a mobile antenna on top of a pole 40 inches away from the vehicles body

It doesn't stating a fact about the truck the antenna and the whole situation....
-
I did get the 27" and tried it alone but it was a mess..Only thing i could figure when i tried it was interference from something at the rest area i was at..
As for the wraps(coil)i broke mine so i had to get another antenna..Couldnt buy just the coil where i was so i just bought a new ant..I was in a crunch..
Yes you can buy all parts of the ant seperately..bored silly Thanks this. -
Yeah I know kale sells all the various parts of his antennas. Gotta screw with ya a little bit.
-
Screw with me,WHAT nooo flowers n dinner 1st!! Im no man hoe ya know..
bored silly Thanks this. -
Let's see when my antenna is straight up vertical forget how high up the 40" deal is. Considering how high and far away from the truck a 27" shaft predator is. My feedpoint to truck mass is negligible in distance from the mirror mount deal... not listening to that feedpoint to ground plane bull #### anymore.... I could/can measure it and the difference is in inches. And not that many inches at all to be relavent.......................
-
Im not sayin he is right or wrong but when and if i find something to prove or disprove ill post it..Seems to me i did see a hammy vid commenting on it but dont remember the details..
Never had my 40" mount str8 yp,physically to tall(over 13'6" )and i think that was with a 6" shaft..I know my mfj 259b showed negative results with it.. -
Gotta play with it alot to get it right. I've got it vertical now. With a 12" shaft with no issues have a 9" shaft to for it. When I get back to Florida I'm going to the house to get my key down antenna.... I've always gotten my best results using it............that setup vertical is more stable going down the highway then anything I've found or used. That crazy 27" deal isn't happening again on these trucks for me. Too each his own. Played with this mount deal enough.... it ain't broke so I'm not gonna fix it...
-
We got it in the ballpark with the 27 inch shaft mounted directly to the mount bolted to the Mirror. I'm sure an inch or so in either direction will probably get it where he needs to be
bored silly Thanks this. -
Kinda figured that. You guys went with your best option.
