Hey everyone,
I'm in desperate need of help at the moment. I've had this truck in a few different shops to no avail. At slower speeds the whole trucks rocks violently back and forth, you can feel it in the seat and the steering wheel physically moves back and forth extremely violently. It seems to come and go. Usually comes at slow speeds though. We've had kingpins checked, bearings checked, wheels checked for out of round. Nothing. Everything seems fine. A passing truck driver has mentioned to my driver that the tires were bouncing back and forth. Looked like death wobble. What should we be checking for? We need this fixed ASAP, it feels like the truck is coming apart.![]()

Did you replace the steer tires or have them balanced?
Check the drag link or tie rod. -
The steer tires were replaced awhile back, and have been verified that they're okay. As for balancing, just had them re-balanced yesterday. Problem is still occurring.
Tie rods look good and have been checked by 4 different mechanics. -
To me it seems like a tire problem as it only happens at certain RPM's and then it disapates.
You check your U-Joints or Center Bearing Hanger? -
I had a similar problem once, usually happened in conjunction with rough roads. My problem was the internal balance product in the steer tires. I did not ask for it and it was not on the bill.

mine did that when the kingpins were bad

These guys can fix your problem. It a radio show/podcast you can listen or call in and ask them. If they can't fix it probably nobody can.
