I would say there is something wrong with your system. Should probably get checked out before it derates and leaves you stranded. I take it you filled the def tank drove 3000 miles and the tank is still full. The truck i used to drive had dd13 and used about 2% def for the fuel that was used.

I would say there is a problem and you will be heading for a derate situation, our long haul highway trucks go about 5000 miles between fill ups, obviously this depends on DEF tank size, but I would say the truck is not pumping DEF for some reason.

Im so glad I don't have this issue!
SAR Thanks this. -
The guage may be wrong, and the first segment usually does last longer, I can believe it showing full yet at 3000 miles.
We usually fill at the shop, without a meter. But I'd start topping it off, if you are allowed to, when you fill up with fuel, to get an idea of how much it is using. -
Did you just buy the truck? I'm only asking because if you did maybe the previous owner bypassed the DEF system and just didn't tell anyone.
Olson Diesel LLC Thanks this.
