Yes, basically.
I was just kind of thinking logically.
I was off a few days.
Then I get back to the truck today.
I make an off duty log. In the comments I write the dates I was off. But on the top left corner, I wrote todays date because I wrote that off duty log today.
Then I write a second log book with todays date. Showing when I started driving.
I dont know! Im confused. -

You should be showing March 10th-12th on the comment line on one log sheet and a new log sheet for the 13th showing off duty till 9am. That would be technically more legal. You are showing the 13th as the whole day the way you are doing it.BigBob410, G13Tomcat, FalconsFan21 and 1 other person Thank this.

Did you ask the officer why he wrote you up and have him explain to you what you did wrong?
-
The logs are written for the days they are for. Not future dates... You are showing two logs for the 11th and that is a violation. Simply white out date on the 1st log and put in the last date of Off Duty for the time you are off.G13Tomcat Thanks this.

He was extremely rude, just kind of barking orders.
He wasn't the type to answer any questions.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Sounds like a common brain fart that we all do on occasion. After logically explaining the "dilemma", common sense should have dictated to the officer, and I use that term loosely, that's all it was and allowed the poor sap to correct it on the spot, end of dilemma....Years ago, that would have been the most likely outcome, but I digress.
G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
say 3/4/17 was your last on duty log you quit at 2200.
3/5/17 through 3/10/17 you're off
3/11/17 you start your new log because you went on duty not ignoring the time spent off duty..
why do you have two log books?G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Did you not have any donuts to bribe him with? They like eclairs from Dunkin Donuts.

hahahha!!! not at the time... I wish I did.
