When the 42000 preplan turns out to be 10000 ...
FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
At Crown the pplan always says 45000, but it is around 7000 if it is a can load.
I'm in Riverton, WY at the casino.
Just thought I would try it out for size.
Nice place with friendly people, and I gained another $40. It isn't much, but it is better than losing $40.
And I wish Crown would pave the lot. I'm sure they have the money to do it with all the business that goes through there. 2-3 inches of water and mud today.
They are so insistent on a clean trailer, yet they make use slog through mud.
We should get extra pay just for the dirt that needs to be cleaned out after going there. -
Crown Cork & Seal remains my single favorite shipper that I dealt with while @ Swift. Delivered a load from Denver and picked up a load to Commerce. In & out in less than 20 minutes then spent the night at the convenience store @ the west edge of town.dptrucker Thanks this.

SoCal.........Try spending 6 days a week dealing with it.
After 10 1/2 months of dealing with it on a daily basis I have a pattern that I rarely deviate from. I'm actually surprised how seldom I encounter a serious delay. EARLY AM darkness is your friend!FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
I agree, except when the lot is nothing but mud and water. But that is the only drawback.
Drop the empty in one row then find your trailer in the next. Grab the paperwork in the front box and go.
It could not be faster or easier. -
I'm at the TA in Parowan, UT tonight.
And I'm hoping that my phone updates with the new time before the alarm goes off in the morning. -
Commerce GA. TA.
Two stops. Norfolk and Jonestown. Lift gates. Student doing very well. -
JV terminal.
I shut down last night at around 1900 at the TA. No pplan until late this morning, picking up tonight at 2000. The load has way too much time on it, but freight is very bad here so I took it.
Just after that I got a call from my DM asking if I was at the terminal. I said no, at the TA. He said to go to the terminal and call him when I got there.
We all know what that means... a random drug test was in my immediate future.
I didn't have enough the first time around and had to sit for a couple hours drinking water. But I finally got it done.
The load has a pick up window of 3/13 2000 to 3/14 0500, but the first delivery (2 extra stops) isn't until the 16th at 0530 in Carson City, NV. That window should have been until 3/15, but it's P&G. Go figure.
My DM was pretty insistent that it gets picked up by 0500, until he noticed that first delivery. I wasn't planning on picking it up by 0500, but I'll be leaving here around that time to beat all the morning traffic.
I saw the bubble map as I was drinking water. All big red bubbles on the west coast, the largest bubble right here. Minus 137 loads.
And there isn't much green except for the eastern half, in some places. -
I was at that P&G once before, and it was crowded. About a half hour wait just to get to the guard shack, and the same getting out.
This time there was no one else there when I got there at 0630.
Traffic through L.A. was a little heavy, but full speed. That was nice.
I shut down not long after I got on the road because there aren't many places between here and Carson City. I'm at the Pilot in Castaic just before the big climb on I-5.
Tomorrow I'll get to the Walmart in Carson City, which is about 1.5 miles from my first delivery.
