Watkins-Shepard Acquired by Schneider

Oh it's happening more than that. Schneider is hauling ALOT of the cross country stuff, CA, WA, And up in the northeast. Full loads I know when they don't have Schneider trailers on the yard they load it on Watkins trailers. They are also loading it on old trailers that are being retired and letting Schneider come
Get them and drop the off at their OC. But Watkins is pulling a lot of the Schneider drop n hook stuff for backhauls to their home terminal. I know quite a few LTL guys that have pulled Schneider loads on their trailers to get em back to their home terminal. Guess they are trying to stay away from other brokers as much as possible.
Watkins drivers seem to be dropping like flies. So I don't doubt them not having enough. People are leaving left and right.
Did anyone call in on the conference call Thursday? What was said?

 

They were heading east in Missouri I guess they where on their way back

 

Yeah I knew about all that already had been told it was coming. They didn't mention any dispatch changes did they?

For some reason I don't get any of those messages on peoplenet. Only reason I even knew about it was I had to take another truck to the shop Friday and it was on the peoplenet in it.

 

Could have been headed from CA to IN or NJ terminal. They are running a lot of the terminal to terminal stuff. Their teams are anyway. Cause they are trying to speed up the wayfair/lodeso type delivery times

 

Hmm, well I must not have one yet cause I don't know about any of this.

 

I left recently. And now I'm glad I did.

 

I see the OTR guys getting the raw end of the deal on all of this for some reason. A lot seems to be changing in their world. Haven't seen any in mine as of yet

 

There's a countless number of companies out there that will hire any driver with a good record. No need to stay with a company that you have lost faith in and isn't living up to their promises anymore.
