Is 475HP going to be enough for what your doing? That's my first question. As for the ISX how many miles on it? I've not dealt with them a whole lot personally but from what I do know they tend to need a rebuild earlier than a cat or Detroit.

What type of gearing does it have in the rear end? My trucks a 525 and gets the job done.sure a little slower but it's got 4:30's in the rear.

Added to the Post Above: The tractor has 550K miles on it and 4.11:1 gearing in the rears.

If you care to, I'd sure appreciate it if you would add the spec's for your tractor to the thread, @nate980

As ever, thanks for everyone's time...

W9? Tractor porn would be most appreciated.

475 and 4:11s should work. Offroad, it should pull. BTW, instead of concentrating on the engine, the main thing I would be concerned with is the suspension. I cant remember which one it was that was problematic on the KWs...AG200?

+1. That ISX with those gears should be fine. Six is correct again, the problematic rear suspension was the AG200. You want the AG100 or AG400. Without a doubt, if it has the AG200, it will need to be swapped. Had one. Did the swap to the AG400. $3500 CDN parts kit from the KW dealer IIRC.

Great information, fellas. The tractor in question is a T800 equipped with an AG400. I wasn't aware of the distinction between the suspensions, so thanks again for the details.

Should be a good truck if it wasnt abused. Only thing I might mention, is that being a 2000 model year, you will need to become familiar with the new electronic log rules. It currently looks like a 1999 model year would be exempt

Would you elaborate on what you mean by "electronic log rules," @rank ?

Starting 12/17/17 all trucks 2000 MY and newer will be required to have Electronic Logging Devices installed.

1999 MY and older are exempt from this law because many of those engines were mechanical and don't have computers to hook the logs to.
