I realize most of the experienced O/O probably have the agents/brokers/contacts calling them with the off load board runs, but as I am getting back into it and have limited sources of loads available, is posting your truck as available a good way to start making contacts?

yep any thing you do to advertise your availability is a plus.JHexham Thanks this.

On ITS the broker gets a notice when you click on their load to get more details.
JHexham Thanks this. -
Posting your truck is the best way to generate incoming calls of anyone seeing you out. That's most of your bargaining power right there - them calling you.
-
Should you leave your truck posted even while under another load or are you required to take it off?
fargonaz Thanks this. -
What board are you talking about?
-
None in particular, just a general way of things. If I take a 1 day run, then leave it up but if I try and plan out 3 or 4 days, should I take it off?
-
I keep mine posted daily out of my home town even when I am 800 miles away. I always stay in touch with the day to day of what's going down around the house. Post it however and wherever you want to test markets and find out which are hot.
-
Why take it off?
Just repost in the destination city...as you head there. You just might score you NEXT load while enroute.
OR
Post your truck in your home town, for loads that may be scheduled 3 days ahead. -
Great tips guys, thanks. Trying to get prepared as best as I can, wanna hit the road rolling.
Any favorite boards used or preferred?
