in the process of leaving, i was a student i went on a leave after testing out. i was assigned to the family dollar account. i realized that the dollar accounts are not a good fit for a new driver. i have no intention of driving OTR with them. i have actually had someone tell me they only pay 26 CPM for OTR anyways. im set up to go to a smaller carrier that has NE regional runs. i dont see a whole lot good at werner. the trainer sucked, they left me waiting in the hotel entirely too long. time to get out while i still can with my driving record intact. the smaller carrier is going to give a decent trainer and i will learn things the trainer at werner did not teach me like backing.

Man, SNI offered me a job a few years back, ( when I was just getting used to my tanker gig i have now, for a "small" mom n pop place.) I almost said yes, til I found out it would be VERY similar to the Dollar "anything" accounts. I flat out said "nope." I've been driving just under 20 years, and yeah, my backing skills are decent, but my BACK is old..... not only THAT, some of those stores (we go to our local one in Lexington Ohio, look it up on Google Street...off of 42 and Orchard Park road.) My wife and I have spotted MANY a driver, and there's some asinine divider for the 'cars' to go either right or left when they enter and/or leave..... I've almost seen a grown man cry delivering there. It's just ridiculous. I don't care HOW seasoned you are; that account is for some "he-man" type of driver with no fear of the obvious. They couldn't pay me enough. Not then, not now, not ever.

Good for you for backing out of that gig. All you may have accomplished is a ding on your CSA and/or PSP for the future FMCSA people to see.

Why did they let you sit that long? Over the holidays, many a trainer "takes a vacay" ..... I've known people to get screwed by that. That totally SUCKS>.

Do you know who you may go with next? You do have a smaller / more local gig lined up? If so, trust me.... it's the way to go.

I had my CDL pre-2003 and drove for Transport America and USX ... OTR, both for a year. Yet when I went to FedEx / Linehaul (doubles and teams, not fun!) THEY made me go back to school @ Roadmasters. It was okay, but leme tell ya; I knew more than the people training! There's a lot of that, these days.

Well, good luck with whatever you embark on; I hope you finally get what you deserve! Proper skills, proper pay.

Come roll with us; be safe, man.

You deserve it for working for a garbage company
Like Werner. I'm sorry people,I got no sympathy for
Anybody that gets screwed over by these mega
    Bottom feeder companies.

This ain't the 1970's when you had no idea what
    You where getting into.
You should have never walked thru their door.
Don't work for these people, ever.
