perhaps this is worth a good laugh, cut and pasted response from trucking truth forum
Wow. So the company was founded in 1956, has one of the largest fleets in the nation with like 8,000+ drivers, is one of the most consistently profitable carriers you'll find anywhere, and is certainly one of the most successful carriers in the history of the industry. But because you had to sit in a hotel room a few extra days and one or two trainers didn't meet your criteria you now feel you're qualified to start giving career advice and recommending that people stay away from a carrier with these credentials?
omg my head is starting to spin.
Listen, why don't you go ahead and worry about your own career right now because it seems like you have a lot on your plate. Let us handle the burden of giving career advice. I think it's better for everyone that way.
Am I making a mistake leaving Werner?

Also was lectured for recommending Britton Transport. I was told, "How can you recommend a company no one has ever heard of; besides, they want 18 mos. experience. Don't come on the website spreading lies and misleading new drivers. We take pride in giving the facts only!"
Being banned from that joke website is a badge of honor.Toomanybikes, TripleSix, Thull and 3 others Thank this. -
sounds like he likes to talk about how great werner is and how big they are without mentioning how the training programs operate, how they receive government grants creating the constant revolving door, why the trainers dont really care about actually training and why he didnt take the time to show me how to back properly. all he did was criticize me for having a brain and figuring out that this system is flawed. you guys tell me i am right and it makes complete sense.
-they dont want drivers to stick around long, they need room for more trainees so they can keep bring in grant money and sucking the government tit. they probably make as much money running the training "program" as they do hauling freight. the government probably pays for everything including grant money to "house" them in that stupid allenhell hotel.
-training a student properly takes time, time away from the student just racking up the miles on the truck. the "trainer" makes more money if he pretends to train and just gets the students to add miles.
i knew it was fishy but i really didnt understand why. you guys explained it, and it makes total 100% logical sense.
#### i got off unemployment and thought i had a "job" all i really had was more government subsidized bullsh$t. im kind of pissed off now. -
its also ###### fishy how they hire. i have worked more then a few jobs in my life. this is the first time i ever worked a "job" that did not require an interview. awfully strange. when i went to wadhams, he had me come in for an honest interview face to face. i had to drive 1-1/2 hours there and 1-1/2 hours back but i dont care about that. it feels allot more legit having a normal interview. it feels like i got an actual job.
Boattlebot Thanks this. -
Can't speak for Werner but I was part of some saftey meeting when I still schleped for swift. They were telling us how swift spent 98cents to make one dollar.... either there buisness plan is ####ed from the get go, or its exactly what you said about training students and high turnover on porpuse.
Considering swift is a very profitable company, I'll just assume the latter is true -
